Wedding Cakes


Payment Structure
A non refundable and non transferable deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking. Cleared payment of the entire balance must be received no later than 6 weeks prior to the date of the wedding for the work on your cake to be completed. In the event of non payment of the balance, we reserve the right to cancel the order and the deposit will be forfeited.

Alterations
Where possible we will accommodate changes you wish to make to your order. There may be an additional charge depending on the changes required. We are unable to make changes within the 2 weeks prior to delivery/collection.

Cake Delivery/Collection
As part of our service, we offer a personal delivery and set up service for your wedding cake. This service is subject to availability and advance booking is essential. We will liaise with your venue prior to delivery to schedule a delivery slot and check that all arrangements for assembly such as a cake stand and table are taken care of. Please confirm as soon as possible if you would like a delivery and set up quotation.

Please note: At the point of delivery, the cake becomes the responsibility of the venue. This is confirmed in the form of a signature by a nominated person e.g. your wedding planner/co-ordinator or other staff member at the venue or should the venue not wish to take this responsibility we will seek commitment for the same from a member of the wedding party.

If you wish to collect your cake from Little Ingestre Bakery, we will provide you with transport, assembly and storage instructions as required. We will arrange a collection time with you and will contact you should any changes be required. If for any reason an order isn’t collected, we will contact you to re-arrange a collection date/time where possible. We do not offer refunds or replacements for orders which haven’t been collected at the agreed date and time.

Once your order is collected we will not be liable for any damages. This is confirmed in the form of a signature from the person collecting.

Cake Stand Hire
Cake stand hire is available and supplied on a first come first served basis. Hire costs for our stands are £50 per stand and a security deposit of £50 is payable with the final balance. It is the responsibility of the client to return the cake stand to the premises of Little Ingestre Bakery within 3 working days of the wedding. When the cake stand is safely returned, the security deposit will be refunded.

If the stand is not returned or returned damaged, the cost of a replacement stand will be deducted from the security deposit.

Fresh Flower Usage
Where your design incorporates fresh flowers, the responsibility for the safety, quality, freshness, colour and safe food practices of the flowers will rest with the florist and not with Little Ingestre Bakery.

Naked, Semi Naked and Buttercream Finish Cakes
These cakes are not as stable as a fully iced cake and in hot weather or in a hot venue, the buttercream can soften or melt. This can cause the cake to settle or slide. Please ensure appropriate measures are in place to account for this potential impact to the cake.

Allergies
Little Ingestre Bakery products contain butter, gluten (wheat) and eggs and are made in an environment that handles nuts, soya and alcohol. Nut, gluten, dairy and alcohol free cakes can be made on request. We cannot guarantee there has been no cross contamination due to the nature of production. Please note that some food colourings may have an effect on behaviour in children.

Little Ingestre Bakery accepts no liability to customers suffering from an allergic reaction from eating our products. It is your responsibility to inform all parties consuming our product/s of the afore mentioned.

Complaints
All cakes require a signature on delivery/collection. This indicates you are happy with the product received. In the very rare situation where you are not happy with your cake/products please highlight this to us at the time of delivery/collection, this will then give us an opportunity to rectify any issues.

We are not responsible for mistakes made by the customer e.g. misspelled/incorrect names or incorrect choice of cake. We always keep samples of each baked product for a reasonable amount of time. In addition, we take photographs of each cake prior to delivery/collection and also when the cake is setup at the venue (if you have booked delivery and setup).

Complaints are extremely rare and will only be accepted from the original client/s. Some complaints may require further investigation and an immediate refund may not also be possible. Cakes or part of cakes or cupcakes must be returned to us within 24 hours to ensure we are able to fairly assess the nature of the complaint. The cake must have been stored at the correct temperature, out of direct sunlight, away from damp conditions or heat and be kept in the box we supplied. If you are pursuing a refund due to the nature of the complaint, you must return at least 75% of the uneaten cake/s within 24 hours of the delivery/collection.

We do not refund for a change of mind or for damages which have occurred outside of our care.

Please note: It is very common for icing to crack as it dries out which is out of our control. We recommend you consume your cake as soon as it is cut. We do not accept complaints for disliking the taste of our products, as individual tastes differ.

Our Products
Products made by Little Ingestre Bakery are made by hand and accordingly there will be minor variations in appearance. All photos, illustrations and descriptions displayed on our page are for guidance purposes only.

Storage
All cakes/cupcakes should be placed on a flat surface and stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and in the box supplied. Freezing or refrigerating our cakes or cupcakes is not recommended. Our cupcakes should be consumed within 2 days and cakes within 3 days.

Cancellations
If you cancel your order the following charges will apply:

  • More than 6 weeks prior to delivery/collection date – deposit
  • Between 6 and 4 weeks prior to delivery/collection date – deposit and 50% of the remaining balance
  • Less than 4 weeks prior to delivery/collection date – full balance due

The deposit is non refundable and non transferable, plus any expenses already incurred by Little Ingestre Bakery in respect of the order will be chargeable.

Cancellation by Little Ingestre Bakery: We shall not be liable for any failure to perform, where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside of our reasonable control including but not limited to any fire, flood, explosion, accident, adverse weather conditions, pandemic, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown, obstruction of any private or public highway, riot, government act, act of war, terrorism, act of god, or from any industrial
dispute or strike whatsoever.

In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, Little Ingestre Bakery will give as much notice as possible if we are unable to fulfil your order. We will endeavour to find someone else who can fulfil your order and will refund any monies paid.

Postponement
Postponements are subject to the same payments as cancellations. Little Ingestre Bakery will transfer any payments made to a new wedding date providing we have availability. If the new date is not available, the deposit cannot be refunded or transferred. We are only able to transfer a booking on one occasion. Any further postponements will be treated as a cancellation.
